Remember that your shoes don't have to match the dress exactly! Try adding a pair ofbright red shoes to a black dress for a combination that stands out in a crowd! This is because a dress shows off the legs, and nothing makes your legs look better than a pair of high heels - the higher the better!

The biggest and most important choice to make when picking what to add to a dress is of course the shoes. Boots are a good choice with any dress that falls to about knee-length or above. Shopping for a dress to go witha pair of shoes you love is often an easier approach. Mini dresses also look best with the wildest and craziest shoes in your closet - platforms, the tallest of heels; they all look great with a mini dress.

Tight fitting dresses loo best with slim heels that continue the sleek, refined look of the dress. Length isn't the only factor in your choice though!

The shoes you select really depends on the dress you are wearing, and there are dozens of styles to choose from.

Knee-length dresses can also match just about any shoe, with the added benefitthat chunkier heels tend to work better with slightly longer hemlines. Classic pumps with a high heel, strappy high heeled sandals, wedges, and mules - any type of shoe can go with this drss. Dresses that have a Western appeal may look best paired with boots.

Look for pumps, sling backs or D'Orsay style shoes that have a 50's appeal as well. Minidresses offer the most versatility because you can add just about any type of shoe to them. Dresses and heels are an age-old combination. Although a lot of people choose the shoes to go with the dress, that's not always the best way to go. Although some light summery dresses might look o with flats, most people feel sexier and more attractive when adding a pair of heels to a dress. The shorter the skirt, the higher the boot top you can wear, all the wayup to thigh high boots.
